Spiders’ Spirit

On the other side

An urban schoolyard,

Nature meets metal.

Tree limbs wedged into fence.

Wood knitted into chain.

An incongruous encounter.

Then, a memory surfaces.

Crosses on the Camino.

Intertwined between diamond-shaped links.

 

Photographs, ribbons, leaves and threads

Pressed into place

Jostling for space.

Industrial landscapes

Begin to breathe

And come to life

With twigs, tears – and a spiders’ spirit.
